If ever there is a day to celebrate it’s today! Happy National Bubble Bath Day. I love LONNNNNG soaks in the tub. Grabbing a good book or magazine and then filling up the tub (and then doing the turn on the faucet with your foot to add more hot water thing  It’s time to close the door to the world around me and focus on relaxing, focus on me for a bit.  I come out feeling so relaxed and refreshed! (not to mention coming out looking like a prune There is something to be said for “soaking” in the presence of the Lord as well! Just taking time to focus on and spend time with Him.  Closing the door to the world around us. Allowing ourselves to...

Remember the Good

Remember the Good (Year of Blessings Challenge) by Betsy Burnett It would be easy to have this year go down in the record books as a “horrible year.” One where, I had to have surgery, mom not only was finishing up treatment for gallbladder cancer but was hospitalized and almost lost her life, my husband had emergency surgery and was out of work for a month. Even my daughter had 2 days in the hospital.  That’s just the medical stuff. I’m not even touching the fact we almost lost the house, I didn’t get my “dream job.” Medical bills have us swamped in debt. My checklist of “bad” could go on and on. So many times we can...

Hope for a restored relationship between God our creator, and man. In Him was a way. In Him was truth. Most importantly in Him was LIFE. Jesus said “I am the way and the truth and...

Open your heart

Open your heart-manger As a new mom you want only the best for your baby. I remember picking out crib sheets and making a quilt for my new little one. Washing them to make sure they were clean for my new baby.  Mary didn’t have those luxuries. Out on the road, far away from home, and it’s comforts, she made due with what she had. She didn’t have a new bed for Jesus, she wasn’t able to wash things down before placing him down to rest. She wrapped him in swaddling clothes and lay him a manger… Luke 2: 7 A manger, a feeding trough for the animals but a place open to receive the newborn Savior. A very unlikely place one would think for the King...

Are you seeking Him?

Are you seeking Him?–wisemen I love the Christmas sweatshirts I see that say “Wisemen still seek Him.” So many times we look to try to find the answers to our problems in every way except the Lord. When we are lonely we look to find someone to “fill the void.” When we need money we decide the answer is in becoming a work-a -holic. When we are sad we turn to alcohol, drugs, even food or other activities to take away the pain. We wander around rather aimlessly not fully understanding that our loving Father who created us, has the answers we are are looking for. If we are lonely, we have a friend that sticks closer than a brother. (Proverbs...
