Scrap Happier

My word this year is rejoice. I’ve been so focused on family, obligations and to dos that I’m pretty strung out, exhausted and well, frumpy!  I don’t think that is what God intended when He said:

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!  Philippians 4:4

So I am focusing more on rejoicing. I plan on doing this in a couple of ways, but one way is through creativity. When I heard about Scrap Happier, the February theme for Layout a Day, I was intrigued. So what is LOAD 2013: Scrap Happier?  In a nutshell:

  • 28 days of video prompts and lessons
  • Exclusive message board for LOAD members only
  • Private gallery for our members where you share your daily creations and win prizes
  • Insiders-only interview with Gretchen Rubin, best-selling author of The Happiness Project. Listen as she shares her secrets on living a happier life (and why scrapbookers have a jumpstart on the ordinary people)
  • Random surPRIZES and fun for all!

While this seems a bit intimidating to me, I think it will be fun to try something new.  Stepping outside my comfort zone and rejoicing in the process!

There, in the presence of the Lord your God, you and your families shall eat and shall rejoice in everything you have put your hand to, because the Lord your God has blessed you. Deuteronomy 12:7

Would you like a month of daily inspiration to scrap happier?

  1. I haven’t picked a word for the year, but like you I am trying LOAD 213.Scrapbookingbecame intimidating when I looked at all the artsy layouts. Being created….forgot that what OI create is unique to me & just enjoy the process.

  2. When I first started scrapbooking, I was a stamper. At crops, I would feel “shunned” because I spent a lot of time on one layout, stamping, inking, etc. (nothing like the artistic layouts today) But when I thought about it, I could hear my girls asking why I didn’t scrap their photos like I did other projects. So, I did what I wanted. While I was preserving memories, I was also expressing my creative side. What’s important is that you do what is best for you-that glorifies God!
