Tell us a little about yourself

I was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA but now call Yorktown, Virginia home. I grew up in a Christian home and accepted Jesus Christ as my personal savior during my teen years.  Although I KNEW God I didn’t KNOW God, that is I didn’t have a personal relationship with Him. After spending some time in the “world”, I realized that what I longed for was a personal relationship with God, and I rededicated my life to Christ in my early 30’s. Now God is truly the head of my life and I am a daughter of the King!

My husband is a retired US Air Force Officer, which is how we ended up in Virginia.  We have one son, TJ (Tim Jr.), who is 15 and a sophomore in high school.  I previously enjoyed a successful career in corporate America, but after my son was born I decided to leave the work force and become a stay at home mom.  I’ve been a SAHM for most of my son’s life, except for one year when I was on the staff at my church.  Now I’m very active in the women and youth ministries at my church and the PTSA at my son’s school.  I try to live my life according to Matthew 5:16, “…Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your father in heaven.”

Why did you start faithbooking?

I attended a women’s conference several years ago and one of the topics was gifts and talents.  The speaker spoke about how God has gifted each one of us with special gifts and we are to use them to serve Him and glorify His name.  She went on to say that our gifts are usually something that we enjoy doing, can do well, and are passionate about.  As I pondered this and thought about what my gift could possibly be, I realized that scrapbooking was my gift.  Since then my goal has been to serve the Lord, glorify Him, and spread His love through my love for scrapbooking.

What is your favorite way to incorporate your faith into your projects?

My favorite way to incorporate faith into my projects is by using scripture that relates to the photos I’m scrapbooking on my layouts. I also love to use faith themed papers and embellishments on my pages.

This page was inspired by the Isaiah 54:13 word art. The photo is of my 15 year old son who is one of the scripture readers at our church.

Where do you find your inspiration?

My main source of inspiration is my family.  We strive to glorify the Lord in all that we do and I feel this is reflected in the photos that I scrapbook.  I receive design inspiration from magazines, scrapbooking blogs and online photo galleries.

What is your favorite embellishment?

I love embellishments and my favorite seems to change all the time.  Right now I’m really into buttons, ribbon and lace,  but I also love flowers and gems.  I guess my fav depends on what photos I’m scrapbooking and the “feel” of the layout.

This page is from my album for Patter Cross’ 2012 Hymn and Scripture Challenge which delves into some of the best loved hymns of the church and the inspiration behind them.

What is your favorite technique?

My favorite technique is diecutting.  I love diecuts, and even though I have electronic diecut machines I still love manual die cutting. There’s just something about turning the handle and seeing that shape or letter pop out (smile).  I enjoy trying new techniques and recently have gotten into using mists on my pages.

What is your favorite faithbooking layout/project?  why?

My favorite faithbooking layout is my Curves layout that I completed after I received my 1,000 workout t-shirt.   I never dreamed that I would achieve that milestone but as the scripture on the layout states…”I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”  Philippians 4:13.

Hanging with My Peeps…This is a  layout of me and 3 of my friends after church on Easter Sunday 2011.   It reminds me that God puts different people in our lives for different reasons and seasons and we should cherish our friendships.
