Where does God want you?

Where does God want you?

How are your faith goals coming along?  Melissa shared her first faith goals layout over on the facebook group.  If you haven’t joined us yet, there is some wonderful fellowshipping going on! by Melissa Czapor The past 6 months of my life have been some of the most difficult of my entire life. While some of the events may have seemed minor to others the combination of them was just plain overwhelming. After about week 2 of the start of these events, I just knew God was calling me and telling me you need to rely on me for strength and comfort and stop doing it by yourself. So I started returning to my morning quiet time and trying to make Him a bigger part of my life. Yet still not the center of it. I did feel better and my circumstances went back to “normal” and life was better for a few days or so. Then yet another struggle came. Finally after this cycle –struggle – relief – struggle, I knew that God was telling me that my normal needed to change. He was basically hitting me over the head and telling me “you NEED me at all times and for every moment of every day!!” At that time, I checked the Faithfully Yours site and saw the post about the Faith Goals webinar, I just knew I needed to be there. I signed up and attended and gained many wonderful ideas. God was reminding me that I needed to focus my life on Him and that having Faith Goals would help me to do this. I spent...
Empowered to Victory

Empowered to Victory

One of my faith goals to lose weight is also a spiritual journey to get closer to God.  On this journey, I’m reading  “Made to Crave” by Lysa Terkeurst.  I’m thoroughly enjoying it, finding myself relating quite often.  I just finished the chapter entitled “This Isn’t Fair”.  I must say this is my favorite chapter.  I could be finished now and be happy with the book. How often do I feel life is unfair that I can’t eat what I want or how much?  Why can she eat anything and not gain an ounce? Why did God allow such tempting food if I can’t eat it? Why? Why? Why?  Before long I’m having a toddler temper tantrum in my head. Lysa says that when you are having one of these pity parties, it is a clue that you are relying on your own strength and not God’s. My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. 2 Corinthians 12:9 When I’m feeling tempted and weak, all I need to do is draw upon His power.  Then “walk” away empowered! Another take away from this chapter was something Lysa’s friend said.  I’m paraphrasing to fit me.  Feel free to paraphrase yourself or if you aren’t struggling with weight-loss, replace food with your temptation/struggle. He wants me to come to Him for acceptance, security, and comfort.  If I go to food for that and never gain an ounce, well then, what would I need God for? Wow, think about that. Forgive me for saying this…but, I’m not a puker.  It takes a lot (really sick) for...
Write Down Your Faith Goals

Write Down Your Faith Goals

Previously we discussed creating and setting our faith goals.  I hope you have prayerfully considered until conviction.  Now that you have created some faith goals… Step Two: Write Them Down Whether you decide to scrapbook your faith goals, write down in a journal or on a plain piece of paper-just write them down!  Even if you aren’t ready to scrapbook or haven’t bought your journal yet, don’t wait.  Then go ahead and place in an area that you will see everyday and be easily reminded.  Here are a few ideas: on refrigerator bulletin board tape to computer monitor as background on your computer index card in purse bathroom mirror Below is a digital representation of what I intend to do using the faith goals kit. During your prayer time, go over your list.  Asking God for guidance, direction, strength, resources or whatever it is you need to accomplish your goals.  And don’t forget to record what He speaks to you! Tip: have a spiral notebook on hand to jot things down to later use in your scrapbooking. Be sure to join us on the Facebook group where we share and hold each other accountable for our faith...
