Throwback Thursday: Love

Throwback Thursday: Love

Today I want to share some faithbook layouts from the past. If you recall, my hard drive crashed a year ago and I lost everything. I managed to save some images, but don’t know who to give credit to or any background on the layouts. I think you will still find the following inspirational.

Eternal Love

Eternal Love

Today we have a guest designer, Joy Jarvis. 1. What inspired you to create this layout? I created this LO in April, 2011. I was inspired by the approaching Resurrection Day or what many call Easter. This holiday has become so commercialized with bunnies, eggs, & such that I just wanted to bring it back to center. Not that there’s anything wrong with chocolate bunnies and eggs, but just like Christmas, it’s the “Reason for the Season”. 2. Story behind the layout. I had wanted to create a LO as an expression of my belief in Christ’s death and resurrection for a very long time. This LO hangs on the wall in my scraproom to constantly remind of the sacrifice He made for everyone. Although it is difficult to look upon, I wanted the most realistic photo I could get of the pain & suffering He endured for us. Layout by Joy Jarvis, aka Vanillabliss Journaling My journaling is several verses pertaining to His death and resurrection from the King James Version of the Bible and they are: John 3:16 “For God so love the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” Matthew 28:5-7 “And the angel answered and said unto the woman, Fear not ye, for I know that you seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here, for he is risen, as He said. Come see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead. And behold, he goeth before you into...
God is Love

God is Love

Wordart Wednesday I wanted to make a card for a lady at church just to let her know she is being thought of.  I chose 1 John 4:16.  I just love this wordart from the God is Love collection found in the Faithfully Yours store. After the card was created with the tag, wordart, button and cross brad, I felt it was missing something. I added the faux stitching border. It was still missing something. I found this flourish stamp and used a light pink similar to the cardstock. I think it was the perfect “something” the card needed. Inside...
Love is Patient

Love is Patient

I remember praying for patience. Then I got pregnant with daughter number 3.  Now we always tease never to pray for patience! I also affectionately call Kimi my “monster” child. She is very stubborn and yet very sensitive. Although she tries my patience on a daily basis, I wouldn’t have it any other way! Love is patient. 1 Cor. 13:4 Like Kimi, a child, we are children of God. God is patient with us as we continue to sin. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9 We are like strong willed children that want our way. While we love God, like Kimi loves us, there are still those times that we want what we want and we do what we want in spite of what we know our Father in heaven wants. We whine and complain, struggle and stomp, end up either learning the hard way or getting spanked. But in the end, like Kimi she comes thankfully with a kiss and a hug and a loving embrace back to where we want her to be… and like Kimi… we wouldn’t have to go through it all if we had just listened in the first place… Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father? Hebrews 12:7 (click image for larger...
