Faithful Friday-How were you blessed with Time?

In an instant
by Betsy Burnett
This month our theme was the blessing of time. I realized that we don’t know how much “time” we really have and each moment is a blessing and we need to live as such. As I think of everything that happened this month. The most devastating was the earthquake in Haiti. In an instant everything changed for the people there. Imagine one day you are going about life as normal the next you don’t know where your loved ones are, or if they are even alive. You don’t have food or water. You are at the mercy of the aid other people are providing.
If there is one major lesson from this disaster is that don’t take time for granted. Make the most of every opportunity! I’m going to hug my kids a bit longer, make sure to kiss my husband goodbye. Go out with my girlfriends. Say what needs to be said. I’m going to make the most of every opportunity because I don’t want to live with any regrets. No one is guaranteed their tomorrow so make the most of your today while you have it! Live a life that you won’t look back and say “If only….”
Ephesians 5:15-16 15Be very careful, then, how you live-not as unwise but as wise, 16making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.
Wake up to the sunlight with your windows open
Don’t hold in your anger or leave things unspoken
Wear your red dress, use your good dishes
Make a big mess and make lots of wishes
And have what you want, but want what you have
And don’t spend your life looking back
Turn up the music
Turn it up loud
Take a few chances and let it all out
‘Cause you won’t regret it
Looking back from where you have been
‘Cause it’s not who you knew
And it’s not what you did
It’s how you live
So go to the ballgames and go to the ballet
And go see your folks more than just on the holidays
Kiss all your children, dance with your wife
Tell your husband you love him every night
Don’t run from the truth ’cause you can’t get away,
no
Face it and you’ll be okay
(Chorus)
Oh, wherever you are and wherever you’ve been
Now is the time to begin
So give to the needy, and pray for the grieving
Even when you don’t think that you can
‘Cause all that you do is bound to come back to you
So think of your fellow man
And make peace with God,
and make peace with yourself
‘Cause in the end, there’s nobody else

Note from Dawn:
January, the blessing of time. With what is going on in my life right now, I thought “For such a time as this” Esther 4:14 would be the verse I would use. But the Lord has shown me otherwise, a much needed lesson I still haven’t learned.

How about you? How were you blessed the month of January with your time? Accept the challenge, upload and share your layout in the gallery.
